Efficiency of recognising human movement

It is commonly claimed that humans are exquisitely tuned to perceiving human movement and thus tremendously sensitive to small deviations from appropriate motions. We are critically reviewing this claim by comparing human recognition performance to that of automatic pattern classifiers. Our goal is to quantify human performance at style recognition and use this as a guide to find what properties of human movement are essential.
